The 2009 shooting year has already been kicked
off. Bushy Creek and Northeast have already had their first
shoot of the year with Circle W joining the list in February.
The A.S.C.A. is still working with several of the remaining
ranges to get even more shoots on the calendar
Northeast Alabama Sporting Clays has started a Winter 5-Stand League. This is to be shot over 10 weeks for a total of 500 birds. This is a great way to get a lot of registered targets and have a good time. Congratulations to Northeast for adding something new for state shooters. iClays is a new tool for both shooters and clubs. Several state clubs have already begun using it including North East and Lower Wetumpka. This is a new software that tracks your shooting career. You can register for an event and see the results all in one spot. You can compare your shooting to one of your friends, in only the shoots where you both participated, even station by station. Many more features are available. Make sure to visit here and enter your NSCA number to see what is available. I know there is more info out there. Please submit your ideas to cover, a a complete section to include, or if you want to completely assume the E-Letter. Things I have been considering are product of the month, range of the month, shooter of the month, and am still working on more. Something going on at your local range? Let us know so everyone can know too. This isn't a political forum so I won't comment either way but it does involve firearms which may interest all. For those interested research the recently proposed H.R.45 Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. You can discuss it all on the BamaClays message board thread. BamaClays has launched a new talk board, the BamaClays Message Board. This is a place to give shooters a voice and ranges a central place to post. There are areas to let you vote on the 2009 state shoot, sell your items, talk about your last outing and much more...with your input. Make sure to keep checking the calendar for the most up-to-date event happenings in Alabama. |
