The 2009 year is off to an early start. The 2009 board members have been announced, the 2009 Alabama State Championship is already coming together, and 2009 registered events are already filling up.

The 2009 Board Members are announced:

President - Clay Cole
Vice President - Matthew Senn
Treasurer - Wayne Cree
Secretary - Chris Howell

I addition, several have volunteered to join the sponsorship committee to raise funding for the 2009 Alabama State Championship:

Jimbo Caton, Gary Cox, Chuck Crawford, Wayne Cree, Don Day, Steve Dickinson, Mike Green, Chris Howell, Edward Mlynarczyk, Stacey Neeley, Peige Josey, Terry Josey, Rick Redmon, Matthew Senn

There is always room for more people on the sponsorship committee. Please contact us to have your name added to the list of volunteers.

Clay Cole has assumed the presidency of the ASCA and started with momentum. He said his goal is to not only increase participation at the state shoot, but to also get Alabama back throwing more shoots by working with ranges. You can see the calendar already filing here, with several ranges saying they are going to add more later.

In a letter from the ASCA President the 2009 State Shoot location is announced:
After careful consideration of all the applications for the 2009 Alabama State Shoot, I would like to announce Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club has been awarded the State Shoot for 2009. I would also like to thank all the applicants and their continued support for the ASCA. I would also like to ask for everyone to come out and support this event.

Together we can make this a great shoot!

BamaClays has launched a new talk board, the BamaClays Message Board. This is a place to give shooters a voice and ranges a central place to post. There are areas to let you vote on the 2009 state shoot, sell your items, talk about your last outing and much more...with your input.

Make sure to keep checking the calendar for the most up-to-date event happenings in Alabama.
